Reiji Samuels & his wife live in a larger house with motors, air conditioners, and fridges running 24/7, so their bills are at an average of RM 1,800 to RM1,900 a month with people at home all the time during the pandemic. Therefore they started to look for solutions to lower the cost of their electricity bills. They thought about installing solar panels at first, but had the perceived perception that solar panels would be very expensive. After seeing the way the bills kept piling up (their bills were RM 1,300 per month even when there’s hardly anyone in the house), they finally decided to actually look into it and did research on solar panel costs. They did a simple Google search and reached out to multiple companies, and Verdant was the first one to get back, while the others took 2-3 weeks.
The sales representatives at Verdant were able to quickly give an estimation of costs and gave them a few options that might suit their needs. This came in handy for the Samuels as they were able to easily and quickly make a decision to proceed with the installation. Due to the pandemic at the time, the inverter was stuck at customs for 3 months. So during that time, the Verdant team made sure to have everything else prepared (such as the wiring, installation of the brackets and panels). Once the inverter came, the installation was swift and everything went on the rooftop smoothly.
Turns out, installing solar panels was a win-win situation for them as it was renewable energy, plus it helped with the bill reduction as it reduced around 40% – 50% of what it originally cost. During some days when the sun was up all day, they could even get a reduction of more than half. With the smartphone application, Mr Reiji was able to monitor the system’s consumption and his credit back to TnB. Mr & Mrs Samuels were very passionate about being environmentally friendly, therefore they were very satisfied with their experience with Verdant Solar and their solar home. Dr. Ghazaime

Dr. Ghazaime described his house as a cybercafe, as his five children always had their computers running, as well as many electric appliances. With that, his monthly bills were around RM 1,000.
Dr. Ghazaime first came across Verdant Solar when he was looking for solar energy solutions online, but it wasn’t until he met the Verdant Solar team at HOMEDEC that he decided to take action and start his journey of renewable energy. After arranging a date for an assessment with the team, calculations and measurements were made. The Verdant Solar representative then discussed the optimal layout & return of investments with Dr Ghazaime. He was happy with what was promised and therefore decided on installation.
From there, almost everything was handled by the company, said Dr Ghazaime. Once everything was settled and the system started working as per normal, he immediately experienced the electricity bill reduction the next month. It went from the normal RM 1,000 per month to just RM 400 or RM 500 per month.
It has been a year since Dr Ghazaime has solar panels installed on his rooftop, and he is very happy and satisfied with his experience with Verdant Solar. During the lockdown period of Malaysia, Wendy Lim’s household electricity bills began to climb as her husband were working from home and her two children were attending class online. Other than that, they also owned many electric appliances, such as multiple air conditioning units, rice cooker, oven, and two fridges, just to name a few. The electricity bills during that period were around RM 200 or RM300 per month. Even after being careful with their electricity usage, the bills weren’t changing much.
After being introduced to the idea of household solar panel installation through social media, Mr and Mrs Lim decided to look into solar panel companies in Malaysia. They’ve figured that, in the long term, installing solar panels will be a worthy investment, as it not only helps them to save money, it’s also helpful to the environment. In just 3 months, Mrs Lim observed significant drops in her electricity bills. At one point her bills are just around RM 1 or RM 2 thanks to the government’s subsidy received from the generated electricity. At the end of the year during installation, the government even owed her household quota for electricity, as the solar panels generated more electricity than what they consumed. With the recent rise in electricity costs, the total of her monthly bills sit around RM 20. They didn’t have to worry about rainy days causing the panels to generate less electricity, as the generated electricity can be carried over to the next day. She can also keep track of all the aforementioned data via an app, which is super handy.
Other than being super satisfied with the performance of the panels, she is also very impressed with the after-sales services that Verdant Solar provided. The walls of the house were slightly leaking once, despite being unrelated to solar panels, the people at Verdant Solar still came over and helped to take a look at the situation, and pointed them in the right direction for a solution.
Overall, Mrs Lim had a tremendously good experience with Verdant Solar, as it not only solved her problem and helped her achieve her goal of saving money, she was also able to show her support in sustainability for the sake of a greener earth.

It is a lovely home with helpful features but you know what that means – High electricity bills. However, Mr Tan is not burdened by the bills because he is able save up much more now that he’s using solar energy! ☀️
He is simply a solar enthusiast who understands the benefits and effectiveness of solar power. It’s pollution free, causes no greenhouse gases and the panels need no maintenance as it lasts for 25 to 30 years and reduces electricity consumption.
Dr Azizah
Location: Kuala Lumpur

Due to COVID-19, Dr Azizah and her family worked from home. She realized that her electricity bill had risen to RM3,000 and wanted to find a solution to the problem.

It’s important to make sure the house is in good shape when we run a homestay. The weather in Malaysia, on the other hand, is givng businesses a hard time.
