Is Solar Right for You? Top 4 Questions Malaysians Ask About Solar Panels

Thinking about installing solar panels but have concerns like “What if they don’t work on rainy days?” or “Is it really worth the cost?” You’re not alone! Many worry about hidden maintenance fees or potential roof damage, but are these fears justified? Let’s clear the air and address your questions so you can make a confident decision!

Top 4 Questions Malaysians Ask About Solar Panels

Question 1: Are Solar Panels Inefficient on Cloudy Days?

With Malaysia’s frequent rain and cloudy weather, many wonder if solar panels are effective without constant sunlight. This is a common misconception. Modern photovoltaic (PV) systems are designed to capture light, not heat, so they generate electricity even on cloudy days. This makes solar power a reliable energy source in Malaysia’s tropical climate.

Question 2: Are Solar Systems Too Expensive?

The idea that solar systems are unaffordable dates back to when panels were costly due to limited production. Today, solar technology is far more affordable. The Malaysian government’s Net Energy Metering (NEM) scheme even rewards solar adopters by offsetting electricity costs, enabling households to save up to 90% on their bills. Verdant Solar offers flexible payment options, including 0% interest instalments, bank loans, and cash payments, making solar more accessible to Malaysians.

Question 3: Do Solar Panels Require Frequent and Costly Maintenance?

Another common concern is that solar panels demand constant maintenance, adding hidden costs. In reality, these systems are low-maintenance, typically requiring cleaning only once every two years to maintain peak performance. To make this easier, Verdant Solar has developed the Verdant Home app, allowing customers to monitor performance anytime. We also provide regular check-ups and cleaning services when needed to ensure optimal results.

Question 4: Are Solar Panels Compatible with Malaysian Tiled Roofs?

Since tiled roofs are common in Malaysia, some homeowners worry about compatibility. However, panels can be installed on various roof types, including tiled, metal, and flat roofs. Verdant Solar’s installers are experienced in working with various roof types, including tiles, metal, and flat roofs. Using specialized equipment, our team ensures a secure and damage-free installation, making solar power accessible for diverse home designs across Malaysia.

By addressing these common questions, we hope you feel more confident in choosing solar panels for your home. With Verdant Solar, you’re choosing Malaysia’s No. 1 residential solar provider, trusted in over 5,500 homes
